It was shortly after 4 a.m. when the text message came through. I thought, “Oh gees. This can’t be good.” Who would be texting so early in the morning and thought the worst. Instead, it was GREAT news! My niece Andrea was in labor!!!! There was no way I could fall back asleep so I stayed up and prayed for a speedy delivery and a healthy baby. The morning draaaagggged on as I stayed glued to my phone getting up-to-the-minute updates from Andrea. All I can say is thank God for text messages; I felt like I was right there by her side, holding her hand and being her personal cheerleader. I mean, not like her husband wasn’t already doing a good job of that but you know, sometimes you just need that extra support from your best friend. :) And that’s our relationship. Andrea is more than just my niece, she’s like my little sister and best friend. We’ve celebrated so many milestones in our lives and I knew someday this day would come. What I didn’t know was how much of an emotional wreck I was going to be eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first born. So between the happy tears and texts, this was surely going to be an extra special day.  It just so happened to be Andrea’s birthday as well. How awesome is that?! At 1:15 p.m., Andrea was given a gift that she will cherish forever. Cayden James came into our wonderful world happy, healthy and with a whole lotta hair! :) 

Andrea and Jon, I’ve been anticipating this newborn session for months (maybe even years)!! You guys are amazing and Cayden is one lucky little boy to have you as parents. Love you lots and can’t wait to celebrate (and capture)  so many more beautiful moments in your life!
